St. Edmond’s Home for Children is licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as an Intermediate Care Facility/ Intellectual Disabilities- ICF/ID for 44 beds.
To be eligible for placement at St. Edmond’s Home, children must have a diagnosis of an intellectual disability and be able to benefit from continuous active treatment in a residential setting with 24-hour supervision and nursing care. Referrals are made to the Social Services Department.
Each application is evaluated on an individual basis. Families are encouraged to visit the facility before applying on behalf of a child, and both the family and child are asked to participate in a pre-evaluation meeting as part of the application process.
St. Edmond’s maintains an active waiting list in accordance with all state and local requirements as applicable. Should an opening occur in St. Edmond’s Home, the Team at St. Edmond’s will review referrals from the waiting list and take into consideration the urgency of need as a priority.
